Marilyn Day’s Young Writer's Project: In 1995 Joann Markman and Marilyn Day began a program to encourage Bright Lights to write and illustrate books. The books are reproduced, bound, and placed in the library for circulation. After Mrs. Day’s death, Mrs.Markman was joined by Barbara Holmes.  Since 2004 Mrs. Markman and Mrs. Holmes have continue her legacy to motivate young students to explore their writing style. They conduct sessions in the fall and spring.  Forty students participate each year.  We launch the student’s books at a culminating activity with the writer’s tea.
