Resolution By The City of Philadelphia
On June 13, 20002, The Bright Lights Program was honored and commended by the City Council of Philadelphia for its contributions and achievements for young children. Bright Lights from Peirce and Whitter Schools went to City Hall to accept the Resolution
Women Making a Difference Award
In March 2003, Ann Evans Guise, our Program Director, was recognized at the 5th Annual Women Making A Difference Awards Luncheon. Here, Councilwoman Reynolds Brown and Councilwoman Janie Blackwell presented Ms Guise with an award for her work with the Bright Lights Program. Three Bright Lights attended the event and received a standing ovation after recited their pledge to an audience of over 500 people.

In October of 2008, Dan Brody Photography recognized the Bright Lights and Ann Guise as local heroes. A photograph of Bright Lights and Ann Guise hangs on the Wall of Heroes in the studio.
Shalom House Peacemaker Award
On May 17, 2010 the Bright Lights and Ann Guise were awarded a Peacemaker Award from Shalom House, a Philadelphia peacemaking project. They received this award:

for taking their voices out into the streets of their neighborhood to call for people to silence their guns. -
for raising awareness about the illegal sales made at a Philadelphia gun store, which lead to it’s closure in September 2009. -
for coordinating a fund drive for people in Haiti who suffered from the earthquake in January 2010. Their efforts raised $3,463.
